About the project
The CBC Job Gender and Age Equalizer project is a targeted initiative designed to increase the participation of women, young people, and vulnerable groups of women in the labor market. By introducing innovative pilot support measures, the project directly addresses the challenges of employment inclusiveness and mobility in the targeted cross-border regions.
The project is carried out across various locations in both the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia. In Serbia, the implementation spans the municipalities of Vranje, Vrnjačka Banja, Vladičin Han, and Trgovište. In North Macedonia, the project is active in the municipalities of Butel and Gjorče Petrov. The project runs from September 30, 2023, to March 29, 2025.
Overall Objective:
The main goal of the project is to increase the participation of women, young people, and vulnerable groups of women in the labor market. This is achieved by introducing pilot support measures that directly contribute to promoting employment, labor mobility, and social and cultural inclusion across borders.
Specific Objectives:
- Upskilling and Reskilling: The implements a dedicated program focused on upskilling and reskilling women, young people, and vulnerable groups of women. This program provides the necessary skills for their (self) employment in well-paid, male-dominated sectors such as ICT, metal processing, and construction. The aim is to equip these groups with the skills needed to thrive in high-demand industries.
- Establishing Sustainable Partnerships: The project fosters the creation of sustainable public-private partnerships that can replicate and scale up the pilot support measures. These partnerships are crucial for coordinating efforts and promoting inclusiveness in the local labor markets of the targeted regions.
- Increasing Awareness and Visibility: Through targeted awareness-raising activities, the project enhances the visibility of the benefits of the pilot measures within local communities. This involves promoting the success stories and outcomes of the project to encourage broader societal support and participation.
Target Groups:
The main target groups of the project include unemployed women, vulnerable women, and unemployed young people. These groups are among the most marginalized in the labor market, often facing long-term unemployment and exclusion. Through a comprehensive training and mentoring program, the project aims to improve their skills and employability, particularly in male-dominated sectors.
Final Beneficiaries:
The project’s impact extends beyond the direct participants to include local governments, civil society organizations, employers, and broader communities. By strengthening public-private partnerships and fostering inclusive local policies, the project contributes to long-term economic development and social cohesion in the targeted regions.
